Who's your favorite and why?
I have a lot, but TODAY I'll say Blind Willie Johnson.
Sure, his stuff was gospell and god fearing, but man it rocked!
You gotta hear the back beat going on in his rhythm on songs like "If I had My Way" and you KNOW the birth of Rock and Roll was happening way back in 1927!

Talk about someone with the right to sing the blues! What a rough go of it he had.
I don't know of many, but I like Sonny Boy Williamson quite a bit. |
